 Vaccines & Wellness Care

Here at Bedford Animal Hospital, we provide both core and lifestyle vaccinations for your pets.  We provide individual recommendations for vaccine schedules based on your pet’s age, lifestyle, and other risk factors.  In addition to regular vaccination, we recommend annual check ups for all pets.  These exams include a full check up, and recommendations for any necessary testing to help keep your pet healthy. 

 

SENIOR CARE

As our pets age, your veterinarian may make recommendations for more frequent exams, as well as regular bloodwork.  Our senior and geriatric pets are more at risk for diseases such as cancer, kidney disease, diabetes, and arthritis.  Using regular monitoring for these common ailments can help us improve your pet’s quality of life.

 

In-House Labs and Diagnostics

We are please to be able to offer our clients and their pets a variety of in-house diagnostic capabilities for same-day results!  Our in-house offerings include digital radiology (x-ray), ultrasound, and bloodwork capabilities.

 

Dentistry

At every exam, your pet’s teeth and gums are evaluated for signs of dental disease.  Dental disease can cause foul smelling breath and difficulty eating in our pets, as well as leading to more serious infections in other areas of the body.  We are happy to discuss options for at-home dental care.  However, even the most robust at-home dental plan can occasional benefit from a full dental cleaning.  We are pleased to offer a range of dental treatments, from scaling and polishing to more advanced oral surgery procedures (such as extractions).

 

Internal Medicine

Throughout our pet’s lives, they can be afflicted by many illnesses.  Our team is experienced in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of diseases.  However,  sometimes specialty care is needed.  In these instances, we are happy to help you find the best care that works for you and your pet.

 

Surgery

We perform a number of surgical procedures ranging from routine spay and neuter, tumor removals, c-sections, exploratories, and certain orthopedic procedures.  With each procedure, we will be sure to walk you through what to expect from the surgery through recovery, and we’ll be with you every step of the way!

 

Boarding

It can be a stressful time worrying about your pet when you head out of town.  At Bedford Animal Hospital, we will keep your pet in a climate-controlled space with numerous walks and play times during the day.  If you pet has special needs, such as daily medication, prescription diets, we’ll make sure they receive them while you’re away.  If any vaccinations or check-ups are needed, our staff will be more than happy to handle any medical need while your pet is in our care.  Call our office today to schedule your pet’s reservation during your next vacation!

 

Large Animal Services

Here at Bedford Animal Hospital, we are proud to still offer mixed animal services.  We treat many common diseases of horses, cattle, sheep, goats, alpacas, and pigs. Farm calls are available, or we have cattle handling facilities at the hospital.  Please call our office to enquire about the full range of services.

 

Euthanasia & Cremation

End-of-life decisions are very difficult when we love our pets.  When the time comes, we are here to discuss all of your options.  We work with a local pet cremation service to provide general and individualized services.  Our staff can help guide you through all of your options and support you as you make this tough decision.
